Step into the world of Lots of Love - Killey

Welcome to Lots of Love - Killey! (That's pronounced KEHL-lee, a special nod to my great-grandma's maiden name.) When I began dreaming of this business, my thoughts naturally turned to the two remarkable grandmas who inspired me most. My very logo is a tender tribute, a fusion of their actual handwriting, reflecting their crafty, strong, creative, and utterly lovable spirits. One grandma consistently signed her cards with "Lots of Love" or “Load of Love.” I had to use the signature line from a letter confirming our inside joke of being almost perfect. To honor my other grandma, I chose to use her distinctive handwriting for "Killey."

These grandmas, especially the one who hand-tied so many quilts for me, instilled in me the profound belief that quilts are meant to be loved and used, not just admired. I've always embraced my handmade quilts just as she intended, using them for countless snuggles and everyday moments. I'll never forget the high school day she gently insisted on taking back a beloved, softest-backed quilt she and Grandpa found at an auction in Nappanee, Indiana. It was worn completely out, past the point of just needing a new binding. Honoring my wishes, she kept the original intact and enclosed it fully after she and my mom spent hours searching for the perfect quilt top (black with iridescent dragonflies and an equally cozy replacement backing.

This enduring legacy of well-loved textiles is the very heart of Lots of Love - Killey. My goal is simple: to create usable, heirloom keepsakes for all of life's moments – from joyful celebrations to quiet comforts. Because, truly, a quilt can be a giant hug.
