Frequently Asked Questions

You’ve Got Questions, I’ve Got Stitches!

I know that commissioning a custom quilt or handing over your cherished memories (and favorite old shirts!) is a big deal. Whether you’re wondering how to wash your new favorite heirloom or how the "No-Cut" promise actually works, I’ve rounded up the answers to my most-asked questions right here.

Don't see what you're looking for? My door is always open—send me a message and let's chat!

  • Do you have a minimum order for embroidery? Nope! Whether you need one single hat for a gift or twenty shirts for your small business, I’m happy to help. I love supporting fellow small businesses.

Can you digitize my specific logo? I sure can! I can take your digital file and "translate" it into a language my embroidery machine understands. There is a one-time digitization fee for this, but once I have your file, we can use it on anything you’d like!

Do I provide the garment, or do you? I can do both! I have access to high-quality blanks (hats, bags, hoodies), or you can bring me your favorite jacket to be personalized.

  • Step 1: The Consultation & Deposit

It all starts with a conversation! We’ll chat about your vision—size, colors, and which special items you want to include. Once we’ve nailed down the basics, a small deposit secures your spot on my sewing calendar.

    Step 2: The Hand-Off (or Ship-Off!)

Gather your clean clothes or branding items! If you’re local to Tipton, we can coordinate a porch drop-off. Not local? No problem! I’ll provide you with clear instructions on how to safely bundle and ship your items to me.

    Step 3: Design & The "No-Cut" Promise

This is where the magic happens. I’ll arrange your items into a layout that tells your story best. Remember: I don’t touch my shears until you’ve seen a photo of the layout and given me the "thumbs up!" Your peace of mind is my top priority.

    Step 4: The Big Reveal

Once the stitching is finished and the binding is secure, your "usable art" is ready to come home! I’ll send you a final invoice, and then we’ll coordinate your pickup or ship your finished piece back to you, ready to be loved for years to come.

  • How long does a custom quilt take? Quality takes time! Generally, you can expect a 4 to 8 week turnaround from the time I receive your fabric. If you need something by a specific date (like a graduation or anniversary), let me know early!

Do you ship, or is there local pickup? Both! If you’re local to the Tipton, Indiana area, we can arrange a porch pickup or a meetup. Otherwise, I ship via USPS/UPS to anywhere in the US.

What is your return policy? Because custom and memory items are made specifically for you, I cannot accept returns. However, my goal is for you to love your piece—if there is ever a concern with the craftsmanship, please reach out so I can make it right.

  • What kind of clothes can be used? Almost anything that holds a memory! I specialize in T-shirts, but I also love working with flannels, button-downs, baby onesies, and even sweatshirts. If it’s meaningful to you, we can usually find a way to make it work. I can even work with denim but there are additional fees due to the extra work needed.

What is the "No-Cut" promise? Handing over a loved one's clothing is a huge act of trust. To keep your mind at ease, I promise not to make a single cut into your items until we have chatted and you have officially approved the final design layout.

How many items do I need for a quilt? It depends on the size of the memories and the size of the desired finished product. I can create baby quilt up to a king size along with everything in between. Here is a nice visual explanation.

Do I need to wash the clothes before sending them? Yes, please! For the health of my sewing machines, please ensure all items are freshly laundered (no fabric softener, please!) before they arrive.

  • How do I wash and dry my quilt? I make "usable art," which means it’s built for the laundry room! The simply answer is Machine wash on cold with a gentle detergent and a color catching product. Tumble dry on low heat or air dry. Full care instructions can be found here.

Will it shrink? You might notice a slight "crinkle" after the first wash. Don't panic—that is the hallmark of a cozy, genuine quilt! It actually makes the blanket softer and more "lived-in."
