Quilt Care
Your handmade quilt is a work of art, made to be used and loved for years to come! To keep it looking its best and ensure it lasts for generations, please follow these simple care guidelines:
Washing Your Quilt
Machine or Hand Wash: Always use cold water only and select a gentle cycle.
Protect Colors: We highly recommend using Color Catchers, especially for the first few washes, to prevent any dye transfer.
Mild Detergent: Use a mild, dye-free, perfume-free liquid laundry detergent. Avoid harsh chemicals or bleach, which can damage fabrics and colors.
Drying Your Quilt
Low Heat is Key: You can tumble dry on low or no heat. Be sure to remove promptly from the dryer to prevent wrinkles and heat damage.
Air Dry Option: For best results, or if you prefer to avoid the dryer, hang your quilt to dry in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight. Ensure it's supported evenly to prevent stretching.
General Care & Storage
Snuggle Often! Your quilt was made to be enjoyed. Don't be afraid to use and love it!
Trim, Don't Pull: If you notice any stray threads, trim them carefully with scissors only. Never pull loose threads, as this can unravel stitching.
Store Thoughtfully: When not in use, store your quilt away from direct sunlight. Never store quilts inside plastic or cardboard, as these materials can trap moisture, promote mildew, and damage the fabric over time. Instead, use breathable materials like a clean cotton pillowcase or a breathable storage bag
